Global Warming: It is because it is
The DN had another article that says Global Warming exists because it exists. Evidence ends beyond temperature increases and guesstimations about where the temperature could go. The left's and the hippies' attempts to guilt the world into increased taxes is pathetic.
I have never said that we should run the biggest gas guzzlers, and increased spending would be great...wait, we HAVE done that.
I was watching Walking With Cavemen, hosted by Alec Baldwin, on the Discovery Channel the other day. In it, they talked about the Ice Age that the Neanderthals had to go through. It lead to their extinction. Scary stuff. But, since global warming can have no other cause other than man and their inventions that burn energy leading to evil emissions, what caused that Ice Age?
I guess Aliens from a distant galaxy came to Earth and drove around killing our O-Zone with SUVs and what not. It is the only logical reasoning since the earth going on a cycle can have nothing to do with temperature changes. The Earth's inner core switching polarity can have nothing to do with what will inevitably kill us all. The Earth was a paradise before the damn assembly line showed up.

Rob, it is doubtful that people believe strongly in these Chicken Little scenarios as an elaborate ploy to raise taxes. Some people just like to believe that the world is going to end, I think it is part of the human condition... it is the ego at play... a way of attaching value to the self in the face of a meaningless existence.
and both the right and the left have done tons of shit in the last 80 or so years to increase the size of Government. so yeah, fuck'em both.
Perhaps there are people out there that truly believe it is our fault, but the democrats have sided by it (partly) to raise taxes. They look for any reason to do it. If the complete lack of machinery and use of natural fuels couldn't help prevent the first ice age, what could we do now? We would seriously have to fuck with the way our planet works in order to change its cycle.
Looking way down the road, but fuel efficient cars and increasing emission standards may save our earth. Immediate effect is minimal at best, and still not enough to prevent any kind of ice age.
I'm surprised they don't take the path they always do. Let the next generation deal with it. Start peace talks with the sun and our planet's core. Give them a Michael Jordan signed basketball and then Global Warming will give up.
both sides pass the bill to the next generation. it is one of the greatest flaws of our political system, that neither side has any qualms with gross over-spending and racking up a huge debt and not worrying about paying for it.
